I've Been Watering This Plant for Six Months and It Looks Exactly the Same - a story about no visible results from effort

When effort produces no visible results, it can feel like proof you were wrong to try. But growth that hasn't surfaced yet is still growth — and continuing anyway, even without evidence, is the hardest and most honest thing a person can do.

“Suffer what there is to suffer, enjoy what there is to enjoy. Regard both suffering and joy as facts of life, and continue chanting no matter what happens.”

- Nichiren Daishonin, 'Happiness in This World,' WND-1, p. 681
